Etone is this years Miami Featured Artist
The Artist, Producer, Songwriter, known as Etone was raised in a small town called Perth Amboy in New Jersey, just outside of the island of Manhatten. Etone's Musical influence and background dates back to when he was a child having the opportunity to be around his father, a bassist, who frequently recorded in professional recording studios and playing at state wide concerts in the parks, festivals and outdoor events as well as playing in regular recording sessions with different artists. Etone comes from a very unique musical family with his late great Uncle being The Great Count Basie, having cousins in the bands "The English Beat", and "DisasterUs" a punk infused rock band. Etone has had a long career in the music industry in wich he started off as a teenage artist for a major independent label out of Seattle Washington owned partially by Sir Mixalot, crediting him with a R&B single landing number 8 on billboard magazine and numerous dance charts. After his L.P. debut, touring on some of the biggest tours through his booking agent, Famous Artist, in NY, Etone wanted to take a behind the scenes approach to the business and began marketing, and promoting for major label and independent label artists. Etone has had the opportunity to work with many artists including Nas, Wycleff Jean and "The Fugees", Jamariqua, Spragga Benz, and Jay Z to name a few. He has also worked with various labels including Sony, Columbia, Island, Delicious Vynil, Capitol Records and alongside Lil Jon at So So Def Jeramaine Dupri's label. Devising musical marketing plans became Etone's passion, he then began promoting national artists to radio and to radio Dj's, broadining his ability as an all around promotional aficianado. As Etone began to get more into radio promotion for artists, he was approached by an underground radio speacialist and became infactuated with the idea of actually owning and operating an underground pirate radio station. Through the technology of microwaving FM frequencies from one location to another, Etone began his blueprint on how he would help start the radio revolution in Miami and what better way then to start his very own radio station located Downtown in the heart of Miami. It was Miami's first fully automated FM radio station with a 1000 watt FM transmitter. Etones FM radio station had the biggest DJ's in South Florida including DJ Khaled, DJ Epps, DJ Radimus as well as many on air DJ's that are in the business today.Etone's radio station became more and more popular, winning awards such as New Times Best Underground Radio Station and it's highly respected formatting from DJ's at power 96 and New Yorks Funk Master Flex at Hot 97, as a result, the FCC, FBI, DEA and the local Metro Dade Police were forced to shut the station down do to it's overwhelming growth and popularity.
As the music industry changed in the last decade Etone went back to producing music, songwriting and DJ'ing. A friend that worked at Cox Radio, informed him about a new format that was never done before at a Miami radio station. Etone thought it would be new exciting opportunity and accepted the job at WPYM Party 93.1 FM, an all dance format. Etone had the chance to work with some of the radio industries top programmers and DJ's including Markus Shulz, Cato K, George Acosta, and Phil Michael Trueba to name a few. Etone has been fortunate enough and thankful to have worked with legends in the industry and has now taken all of his energy and focus on his debut project as a producer, and songwriter. His first single entitled "Incredible DJ" was inspired by a DJ out of Europe named Ruth Flowers "Mamy Rock", a 69 year old woman who is gaining large popularity as a nightclub DJ Worldwide. Etone states, " With my extensive experiences and knowlege, I am continuing my journey through the Entertainment Industry with Godspeed"!
