Test: Lenovo IdeaPad U350, ultraportabel PC
Lenovo IdeaPad U350 is a computer that falls somewhere between the segments, mini-computer ( netbook ) and ordinary laptop. It is an ultraportable laptop in a stylish form that is easy to take with them, but bigger than a mini computer.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U350 I have test driven the Windows 7 installed instead of Windows Vista, which would otherwise have been the operating system that U350, which usually comes with. Now that Windows 7 is launched, I think it is better to run with it.
The appearance of the IdeaPad U350 looks different than what we're used to in terms affixed,. This is really a matter of taste, but I like the design. The lid is glossy black with embossed pattern, and the keyboard is surrounded by brushed metal. It is both stylish and practical, because it makes your computer more resistant - metal will not bend like plastic can do.
Snygg design
After I test drove the computer I looked up what other reviewers thought of looking and it has really separated themselves properly. Datormagazin sawn appearance quite whereas C | Net raised it to the skies. It certainly proves how subjective reviews are.
U350 is a very light machine and it weighs just over 1.6 kilograms. For the thickest, the computer is 2.5 inches. The screen is in 16:9 format at 13.3 inches, and offers a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The keyboard is nice to write on and the trackpad is no objection. A third mouse had to be desired, though there are not many laptops that have it.
Since this is an ultraportable PC, Lenovo has opted to compromise away the optical drive. Thus, there is no CD / DVD in your computer. Some users will of course miss the point, but I personally do not remember when I last used my optical drive in addition to installing Windows 7. It can of course get an external unit that connects via USB.
Good with HDMI for movies
If we look at the ports that are offered, there are three USB ports, audio in and out, card reader, network port, VGA connector and HDMI port. The latter I think is appreciated. I tried to connect the computer to my TV and it went quickly and smoothly. In Windows 7, I configured the TV as extended viewing area, and then chose the sound settings in Control Panel to use the TV as a sound device. Then it was just to pull off a movie in Windows Media Player on the expanded screen space.

Can also be mentioned that the IdeaPad U350 has a wireless network with support for 802.11.b/g/n and Bluetooth. The wireless network card thought I had good reception when it was just a bit better connectivity than most other notebooks I've tested on my wireless router.
The performance is not cool
So how does the computer in their everyday work? As expected, I can say. With a ULV processor and graphics chips Intel (Mobile GMA 4500), you can not expect to be able to run some heavy games like. It flows so well for better than a mini computer, and I have not experienced the U350 has a dull computer when I used it normally. To play the movie went as I said, smoothly.
The screen I give thumbs up to. I like the 16:9 format and high-glossy LED screenhas good color and perfectly okay sting. The viewing angle is like that. When I was sitting high and looking diagonally down the screen brightness right was hard. Quite looking straight at the screen to get the best picture.
You can get IdeaPad U350 with battery at either 4 or 8 cells. The former gives you up to five hours of battery life, while the 8-celliga battery will support up to ten hours. In practice, the time somewhat less than that, especially if you use the wireless LAN and Bluetooth.
Should I add up the computer, I think it's been a nice friendship. IdeaPad U350 is a sleek and smooth ultraportable that has worked fine. It's not a monster machine, but it is directed against those who primarily use your computer to run Microsoft Office, surf, send e-mail and do everyday things.
